Deputies said the dispute between a man and a woman, who were not identified, began on Churchill Road in Eddyville. It took a bad turn when the man jumped into a car and tried to drive off.
“The preliminary investigation suggests that the woman held on to the driver’s side door handle as the vehicle was moving,” said Detective Lt. Abram Markiewicz of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office. At some point, Markiewicz said, the woman fell and was injured.
“The call came in at 1:43 p.m. on Saturday,” said Markiewicz. The man driving the car was still at the scene when a...sheriff's deputy arrived.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the woman’s injuries included a lower leg fracture and facial cuts. Although her injuries did not seem life-threatening, said Markiewicz, they appeared significant enough to trigger a request for an airlift.
