The drive-through testing site on the grounds of TechCity in the town of Ulster remains operational and continues to draw a substantial number of people, said Deputy Assistant County Executive Daniel Torres. Editor’s note: In the interest of public safety, critical coronavirus coverage is being provided free to all readers. Support reporting like this with a subscription to the Freeman.
Torres initially said the Ellenville site was closing because it “did not gain traction.” But in a call with the Freeman T...esday morning, he said he had misspoken and that the site simply had changed the way it operates.
The Ellenville site features drive-up testing by appointment, by calling (845) 647-6400, ext. 269. Appointments are not required at the TechCity site anymore, but a doctor's pre-approval for testing is required at both locations.
The Ellenville testing site opened March 30, a week after the TechCity site opened, both in partnership with Nuvance Health.
