Noble said the hotline, at (888) 316-0879, was established to provide meals and groceries to those in need across the Kingston School District and streamline the intake of requests.
Since the hotline went live March 27 amid the coronavirus pandemic, volunteers have taken more than 1,000 calls, officials say.
The food requests from the hotline are fulfilled through People’s Place, which is currently serving groceries to 400 families each week, and through Family of Woodstock, Everette Hodge Center staff, and local restaurants, which together are providing more than 2,000 p...epared meals to residents each day.
The Kingston Emergency Food Collaborative is a coalition of 15 community organizations, community members, the city of Kingston, and Ulster County's Project Resilience.
