During its current session, the New York Legislature has passed a cadre of new laws intended to strengthen our state's voting process. As a result, New Yorkers will have nine days of early voting before every election, starting this November. However, one important aspect missing: funding.
We must call on Gov. Cuomo and members of the Legislature to provide funding in the final budget to implement early voting as well as provide funding to counties to cover initial costs.
New York should not be a place with the lowest voter turnout in the nation. Let's join other progressiv... states in reforms that encourage all voters to participate in our most sacrosanct democratic process.
