The 'Dallas Buyers Club' star - who has Levi, 12, Vida, 10, and Livingston, eight, with his wife Camila Alves - has strict rules for his three children, including that they shouldn't lie, they're not allowed to say 'I can't' and they can't use the word 'hate'.
He said: "We do demand respect and trust within the household. We don't allow lying in the house. You cannot say the words ‘I can’t’ and you can’t use the word 'hate'. Those three words will get you in big trouble in our house. Lying, saying ‘I can’t,’ or saying ‘I hate.'"
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey on ...er new Apple TV+ show, The Oprah Conversation, he added of his advice for his kids: "If a kid at school ever tells you, ‘Oh, I bet you live in a big house ’cause your dad’s famous,’ don’t bow your head. Look up and go, ‘Yeah, we do actually live in a nice house. My dad works really hard to be as good as he can at his job.' I hope my children will become autonomous, conscientious, competent young people in their life."
