Village Special Projects Coordinator Alex Wade said this week that the final cost was $23,777 less than what was budgeted.
“It’s pretty much all good news,” he said, adding that contractor J. Mullen and Sons "did a good job of saving costs with the revisions to our contract.”
Wade said that prior to the village being reimbursed, the work still has to be reviewed by the state Department of Transportation for compliance with engineering requirements.
“The important staff ... has been on vacation,” he said. “So I can’t get any definitive answers to quest...ons at this time.”
The new sidewalks are on the south side of Main Street, extending 276 west and 230 feet east of the intersection with Partition Street.
